Rufus Edward Alexander

Rufus "Rudy" Edward Alexander passed away on October 15, 2015 at Northwest Hospital, Hospice Care in Baltimore, MD.

Rufus was predeceased by his father, Charles Alexander and his guardians, Tom and Helen Garrett Coleman.

Rufus is survived by his son, Eddie Byrd of Augusta, GA. and his mother, Mary D. Alexander of Reidsville, NC.He is survived by three sisters, Cassandra A. Bumpas (Leotis) of Reidsville, NC, Annette A. Bolden (Vincent) of Reidsville, NC, and Linda K. Alexander of Reidsville, NC and one brother, Joseph H. Alexander of Charlotte, NC.He is also survived by three grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends, Reecie and Frances, all who will remember his infectious smile.He attended Dunbar High School.Rufus was a truck driver and a longshoreman in his later life.

His remains were interred in the family plot in Reidsville, NC.

The family would like to thank his caretakers at Medstar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore and Northwest Hospital in Randallstown for their compassionate care during his final days.
