IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rufus
Carter
April 15, 1945 – February 4, 2021
Rufus N. Carter, 75 years of age, passed away suddenly on Wednesday February 3, 2021 at his home. Rufus was born April 15, 1945 to the late Harrison and Mary Carter. He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School system. Rufus lovingly called "Nat' by his wife and he adoring called her "San". Rufus was affectionately known as Poppa and Moon to family and friends.
He married the love of his life Sandra P. Jefferson on October 17, 1965. After school, he had a lengthy career in construction. He worked for several different companies, including Kirby, Roy and Sons Inc. He worked faithfully until his retirement from Roy... in 2009, to care for his loving wife.
In retirement, he loved to spend time with his wife, children, grand kids and great grand kids. He loved reading his bible, praying for family, laughing and always with a smile on his face. He enjoyed time in his garden and cooking on the grill. One of his favorite things to do was eat. Nat leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Sandra (San); his 5 children, Brian, Vernon Sr., Diana, Tina (Tony) and Toni (Stephen); a special adopted daughter in love Tamara Alexander. 14 grandchildren, Tanneisha, Brian, Kierra, Andrew, Walter (Melvia), Terrell (LaTavia), Meshawn, Devin (Tasha), Tyrone, Anthony, Dru, Ahmad, Diamond, Jordan and 2 special adopted grand children in love Deris Jr. and Shy'Dawn, 16 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers Milton and Wesley; 5 sisters, Beatrice, Bessie, Carrie, Juanita and Rose; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents; Sister Marie Long, 2 brothers, Morris and Jasper, grandson Vernon Jr., son-in-law Walter Crowner Sr., great grandson Carter Crowner, and great granddaughter Wren Crowner. Nats' presence was so strong and extensive with his passing; one more light has been extinguished from our lives. Nevertheless, our grief is tempered in knowing the Nat is free of earthly pain and suffering. We are comforted in our faith that a loving God received him into His loving care.
