IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Russell
Funnie-Penn
April 30, 1997 – September 18, 2018
RUSSELL FUNNIE-PENN,
the son of Malik
Muhammad and Joscelyn Funnie, was born on April
30, 1997 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on
September 18, 2018.
He received his education at Franklin High School in
Reisterstown, Maryland, where he played football and was on
the traveling varsity basketball team. After obtaining his GED,
Russell enrolled in Fortis Institution to study Medical Front
Office Administration. Russell worked as a life guard, in the
fast food industry and most recently as a security guard at
M&T Bank stadium. During his 21 years on this side of the
Jordan, Russell lived in Maryland, Arizona and Georgia. He
had a personality that attracted people of all ages. It wasn't
quite right if Russell wasn't bringing friends home to visit, eat,
play or stay over for a month or two. Ifhe was your friend, he
would go to the end of the earth for you and he made sure that
his entire family did the same.
Russell leaves to mourn: his father, Malik Muhummad, his
mother, Joscelyn Funnie; his siblings, Joseph Funnie (Tesha),
Michael Penn, Jr. Jazzman Funnie-Penn and Nicole Penn; his
soul mate, Mercedes Leazer; his sons, Kamauri and Zaden; his
grandfather, Russell Funnie; his grandmothers, Gwen Funnie
and Mary Edwards; his great grandmother, Emma Lee Hall;
his grandmother and grandfather that precede his death,
Caldonia V. Penn-Jones and Leon W. Jones and a host of
other relatives and friends.
