On November 1, 1951, Samuel Anthony Diggs was born to Ella and the late Samuel E. Diggs. He was their only son. On the afternoon of November 22, 2017, after 15 years of illness, he slipped peacefully into eternal rest.

Butch, as he was affectionately called attended the Baltimore City Public Schools and received his GED from the Job Corp. in 1968. He worked for the R. C Cola Company for several years and worked 20 years for the Power Con Company.

Butch loved race cars, hunting wild game, fishing and clowning .... he loved to make people laugh.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Ella Diggs; five sisters, Anna Williams, Marian Guy (Dennis), Delores Allen (Russell), Stephanie Diggs and India Ross; four children, Wanda Diggs, Samuel Edward Diggs, Samuel Anthony Diggs, Jr. (preceded him in death), Anthony Diggs and Sabrina Diggs; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; four aunts, Dorothy Diggs-Johnson, Annie Bell Smith, Arthur Pat Kelly, and Christine Smith; two uncles, John Diggs and Jerry Freeman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
