Sandra Comegys, daughter of the late Nora Young and Anthony H.
Comegys was born August 29, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed
this life on July 13, 2019 after a short illness.
She received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System,
graduating from Frederick Douglass High School in June 1958.
Sandra accepted Christ as a young child and was a lifetime member of
Pennsylvania Avenue A. M. E. Zion Church. Sandra served faithfully on
the Sunday Church School, Music Ministry and the Missionary Society.
After graduating from high school, Sandra began a career in retail as a
proud cashier for New York Supermarket, Rite Aid and CVS. Sandra
loved servicing the public and enjoyed making friends, cracking jokes and
giving small pieces of advice to customers she grew to know and cherish.
She retired from CVS in 2008.
In her spare time, Sandra was an active member of F. E. W. Harper
Temple #429. Within the organization, she earned her Past Daughter's
Honors, Past Tri-State Honors, Past Granddaughter's Ruler Honors and a
member of the Temples Drill Team.
Sandra loved to travel with family and friends, watching Food Network,
morning talk shows, game shows, The Young and the Restless and reality
television.
Sandra is survived by: her two daughters, Karen Bumbray Bose and Chris
Bumbray; one son-in-law, David Bose; one granddaughter, Natasha
Neale; one great granddaughter, Kennedy Sattlefield; one grandson in-
law, Shelton Sattlefield; one brother, Donald Comegys; four sisters, Yo-
landa Comegys, Vonzella Comegys, Shelly Lyons, Beverly Comegys who
preceded her in death in 2015; one brother-in-law, Rick and a host of other
relatives and friends.
