Obituary

Sarah E. Johnson -Bagwell, the daughter of the late Juilia E. Wharten and Yubert poe, was born on August 18, 1932 in Lauringburg, North Carolina. Sarah, who was affectionately know as "Little Ma" and "Mother Sarah", was the only child from this union. After a brief illness, she called home on November 24, 2010. Sarah caom to Baltimore at an early age. She attended Baltimore City Public School System. She received her GED in 1974 and then went on to attend Coppin State Collage for 2 1/2 years. Sarah volunteered at the department of Social Service and with Manpower for 7 years. She later became a Daycare Provider through the Department of Social Services. She did this for 15 years and then retired. Sarah met and married Edward Quick on june 12, 1951, from this union two children were born, Edward Om, and Cassandra Quick wo preceded her in death. She divorced, and later married Sylvester Johnson on March 10, 1962. As a result of this union, two children were born, Maurice and Michelle Johnson. She divorced, and later rekindled her relationship with John Bagwell who preceded her in death and they were married on february 24, 1997. Sarah became a born again Christian and joined Holy Temple Holiness Church under the leadership of Pastor Julia Willams on March 20, 1970. She later joined New Creation Christian Church under Pastor's Bryant and Shelia Claxton. She would attend Friendship Baptist with John, but she would also fellowship with Pastor's Charles and Diane Ellis at Faith, until her health did not allow her to attend. Sarah was a prayer warrior, who love the Lord and spoke of the many blessings the Lord has provided in her life. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Edward Om Qiuck, Maurice Johnson, one adopted son, David Jones, one daughter; Michelle Tisdale, and one adopted daughter, Marlene Washington-Jones, two daughter in-law Zabborrah Claudette Johnson, and Brenda J. Quick, fifteen grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchid, two sister's in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
