Obituary

Sarah's greatest attribute was that she was
a realist. She lived in the here and now and
displayed her commitment to the motto "One day at
a time", Coming her husband's phrase "That's
History", reminding all of us that yesterday is gone
and that we must make the most of today because
tomorrow is not promised!

Sarah loved to entertain her family and at
least (2) holidays a year. Aunt Sarah and Uncle
Parker would layout a spread to rival Kings and we
dined in the love which they prepared for us.
There was always love in their home
because they loved each other. You felt that love as
it was extended to you.

Sarah loved her family but especially her
nieces and nephews. She showered them every
chance she got whether it was graduation, wedding,
baby birth or just because. She would let you live in
her home, wash your dirty clothes and advise you
like a mamma. She loved us and we certainly loved
her.

She was the 4th of 5 children but in many
ways she acted as the big sister. Right the end she
would call her big sister, Julia and ask "Did you take
your medicine". How is your sugar? Is there a word
form the Lord? Essentially she was a nurturer. Her
big brother Amassa loved sharing recipes, jazz,
travel and politics and they shared like old friends.
Sarah was the kind of friend you could tell your
deepest darkest secrets to and know that it would not
go any further. You could be yourself with her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her
loving and devoted husband Robert L. Parker, Sr.,
her loving mother-in-law Bertell Parker, her step-
children, Robert Parker Jr. (Cynthia), and Purnell
Parker, brothers; Amassa Fauntleroy (Lillie),
David Parker, Dexter Russell, Clifton E. Files; sister;
Rev. Julia E. Mosby, Millicent Fauntleroy, Jean
Payne, nieces and nephews, three devoted friends
Mrs. Beverly "Cookie" Wade, Mrs. Cecelia Craig-
Carroll, Mrs. Yvone Duncan and host of relatives
and friends. Memorial Service Sharon Baptist Friday, November 27, 2015 11:00 AM Email Details 1373 N. Stricker St.
