Obituary

SARAH ELIZABETH WILLIAMS,91, passed away peacefully at her home with family at her side on Monday April13,2020.



Sarah was born on July 22, 1928, in Baltimore MD, to the late Elizabeth Moore and John McFadden. She completed her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. In her early twenties, Sarah met andfellin love with Ernest Keene. Sarah had 4 children/ZacharyIPortia, Cynthia, and Mark. Sarah worked in the health carefield asa Nurse's Aide and performed private duty work. After26years, Sarah retired from the Hoods Convalescent Home. Upon her retirement, Sarah dedicated her time raising and caring for her grandchildren and some of their children, as wellasbabysitting numerous neighborhood children. Sarah became a surrogate grandmother to many and was loved andrespected by all who knew her.



Sarah was a supportive grandmother and provided a safe harbor and refuge for her grandchildren. No matter what they were going through, she was there to lend support and encouragement. Sarah loved to cook for her family especially Sunday dinner. Sarah liked listening to music and dancing; she was often the life of the party and enjoyed toasting with her favorite libation. During her lengthy illness, Sarah often watched nostalgia television. She liked old western shows and movies.



Sarah so loved theLord!She was a Senior member of John Wesley United Methodist Church for more than30years. It would notbeaccurate to say that Sarah lost her battle because she never stopped fighting, for "she earned hercrown"!No matter how sick, she maintained her determination, when others may have given up. Sarah's faith never wavered. Her resilience and perseverance were her guiding light. When she took her last breath, the sky open, and GOD reached downand took his daughter home. Sarah has got her wings andisnow walkingwith the Angels.



Sarah was preceded in death by her son, Zachary; her daughters,Portia and Cynthia; and grandson, Jameel, and great grandson, Dominic.



Sarah leaves to mourn her passing, son, Mark; her grandchildren, Leonard,Darrin,lsiaih,Tonya,Brian,Mark,Jr.and Ouantina; two granddaughters-in-law, Jeanette and Deborah; seventeen great grandchildren. (special mention: Cynthia, Lakia, Danielle, and Brandon);five great-great grandchildren; and a devoted friend, Laura Daney.She alsoleavesa host of other relatives and friends. Sarah willbetruly missedby all.
