Obituary

Shanizya Ariel Taft, affectionately know as "Mink" daughter of Shanell Pryor and Sheldon Taft II was born on March 24, 2002 in Baltimore, Maryland. She went home to be with the Lord May 27, 2014 an untimely death at age 12. Mink was a precious angel sent from heav- en and touched the hearts and lives of many friends and family. The mother and daughter bond was unbreakable, they loved one an- other immensely and although she is absent from the body she is in the presence of the Lord and she willforever be missed. Her father "TJ" loved his little girl, he treated her like the princess she was since birth. There was nothing he wouldn't do for her, even braiding her hair. No task was too big or too small when it came to his "Mink". Mink was a very loving sister to her brothers and her sister. She was an honor roll student at Coldstream Park Elementary School. Mink was a very bright and respectful student and often mentored to her fellow classmates. She was always on the Principal's List, involved in the Ro- botics Club, participated in the school's Kidcasters Morning Announce- ment Team and excelled in engineering, math and science. Mink always made her parents proud and was raised by the best parents any child could ever have. The spiritual values, integrity, strength and wisdom that her parents instilled in Shanizya was the very core of her being. She captured the true innocence of a 12 year old. She was a beautiful young girl with style, grace and maturity with the potential of becoming a rising star! An academic leader as well as a role model for her sister Maklah. Mink gave her life to Christ and loved going to church, she loved mu- sic, dancing, fashion and cooking, especially fried chicken. Her favorite color is blue. She was especially close with her step father, Kevin who loved her as his own daughter. They would often joke and play and go to the Baltimore Orioles game which she loved. Her grandparents loved her dearly and will forever cherish the memories they had with her. She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Shanell Pryor; her father, Sheldon Taft II; stepfather, Kevin Mickey; three brothers, Daryl Savage, Sheldon Taft III, and Tyion Taft; one step brother, Jaden Mick- ey; one sister, Maklah Mickey; grandparents, Lorraine Dantzler, Yvette Taft and Jasper Pryor Sr.; great grandparents, Catherine Wheele and George Wheele, Barbara White and Nathaniel White; great great grand- mother, Mary Taft; jive uncles, Jasper Pryor Jr., Tavon Hurrell, Tracey Taft, Tyree Taft and Terrance Taft; two aunts, Cheri Brown and Shernay Taft and a host of family andfriends who loved her dearly and her best friend, Destiny Brown.
