Shawn Henry, was born Shawn Timothy Edwards to the late Annie Ruth and Charles Edwards on May 6, 1976 in Baltimore, Maryland. He transitioned this life on December 31, 2012 after complications from diabetes. As an infant Shawn was taken in along with his siblings Shconda, Dante, and Nicole by loving foster parents Sarah and James Henry. The Henrys later adopted all four children. In 1987 and 1988 both Sarah and James passed away. Shawn came to know Christ early on. He was baptized at Mt. Wynans First Baptist Church where he was on the children's choir, youth usher board, and served as an alter boy. As a child Shawn enjoyed summer trips to West Virginia for vacation bible school. He attended Baltimore City public schools and graduated in 1995 from Harbor City High School. Shawn had a passion for cutting hair, he would oftentimes carry his equipment in his backpack to travel to his clients who wanted to get that cut just right. After securing his barber's license he worked at several shops; Classic Cuts, Sharper Edge, and lastly Blade Masters. Shawn attended North American Trade School and graduated in 2011 with a diploma from the Building Construction Technician program. He was also very artistic, detail oriented and enjoyed arts and crafts. As a teenager Shawn met, fell in love and later married Malia Allen on October 17, 1997. From their union was born Shalamar, Morgan, and Ka-ron Henry. Shawn loved his family and his hope and dream was to provide and be present in their lives. Shawn was a quiet, fun loving, mild mannered guy. He enjoyed movies and would solicit the company of his nieces and nephews to join him in viewing them. Shawn was very outgoing and made numerous friends wherever he traveled. He shall be missed for his peaceful spirit. Shawn shared a special bond with his sister Nicole "Nikki" Henry with whom he lived with until his death. Shawn will be deeply missed by his daughters Shalamar and Morgan and by his son Ka-ron. His is survived by his siblings Schonda Henry, Dante Henry, Nicole Henry, Ronnie Finney, Jo Ann Henry, Rodney Jackson, Veronica Henry, Stephanie Avery, Douglas Henry, Glen Hart, Darrell Turtle, Charles Edwards, Jr., Deshonne Adams, Dominick Edwards, Monique Edwards and Tiffany McCleod. He was preceded in death by siblings Susie Creecy and Ronell Easley. A host of cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to list by name also mourn his passing.
