Shawn Derrick Brice, Jr. was born on June 1, 1994. Akiela Hawkins and Shawn Brice, Sr. were given a sacred trust. A precious life was laid in their hands. Shawn was affectionately known as "Stinky" by family and "Rose" by his closest friends. He joins his brother, Maliek, a.k.a. Blake, in death's slumber.

Shawn was educated in the Baltimore City Public School system. He received awards for the Honor Roll, Citizenship, Mathematics and the Principal's Award, along with many others.

Shawn was kind, compassionate, humble, loving and always respectful to others. Children gravitated toward Shawn. Shawn loved kids; and he loved and adored his family.

Shawn had a very healthy respect for God. At a young age, he studied God's word along with his mother, sisters and brother. When speaking about God, Shawn called God by his name -- Jehovah.

Shawn slipped into eternal rest on January 14, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memory: Akiela Hawkins (mother); Shawn Derrick Brice, Sr. (father); Chosie and Chastity Brice (sisters); Tarsha Austin (second mother); Paula Hawkins and Shirley Brice, (grandmothers); Irvin Brice (grandfather); Yolanda Gardner, Chosie Lane, Valarie Dion and Dawn Brice (aunts); Tony and Vincent Brice (uncles); Sevyn Aye (niece); Bill and Bryant (true best friends); and, a host of relatives and friends.
