SHELLIE MCDOWELL, son of the late Agnes and Hazel McDowell, was born on September 1, 1945 in South Carolina. He departed his life, after a long illness, on February 8, 2014. He received his education in the South Carolina public school system. When he was young, he moved to Baltimore, Maryland with his family. He worked in construction and was last employed at Iacaboni Site Specialist. Shellie or "Belt", as family and friends called him} enjoyed having fun and eating good soul food. Believe it or not, he knew how to cook a mean hog. Family reunions always made him smile because he enjoyed the company of his siblings. When he wanted to relax he spent time at his brother's lounge. Six brothers and one sister preceded him in death: Isaac, Frank, Allison, Clyde, Calvin, William and Travis. Shellie leaves to mourn: his wife, Audrey McDowell; one daughter, Roslyn McDowell; one son, Steven McDowell; two stepchildren, Maurice and Annette; four grandchildren, Tahjanea, Mykal, Aysa and Tyrone; four brothers, Thomas, Johnny, Robert, and Windsor; seven sisters-in-law, Hermena, Lettie Mae, Veronica, Patricia, Valerie, Dorothy, Juanita; three brothers-in-law, Michael, Larry and Lamont; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
