shelve received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System.

sheivie's last employment was with Russel Toyota Car Dealership as a car detailer.

He also held positions as a land surveyor and a forklift operator earlier in life.

Shelvie was definitely a communicator. He loved to impart his knowledge and life

skills to everyone he came in contact With. He certainly felt as if he knew a lot

about everything, especially sports and politics. You could count on him to be in a

daily debate with his Wylie Avenue friends.

shelvie married the love of his lite Lisa A. Carroll on June 13, 1997. They are the

parents of Dez, LiShel, D'miran and he gained a stepson in this union Darrian N

Carroll.

He loved to watch sports especially football and basketball. He loved to call and

debate with his dad while watching sports all the time.

shelvie's greatest joy was spending quality time with his family. He especially

loved being with all of his grandchildren whom he loved unconditionally. He and

Lisa would dance and sing their favorite songs for their grands all the time.

His wife Li Li, as he affectionately called her, loved him unconditionally.

A bond that will never be broken.

He leaves to cherish and celebrate his life is loving wife, Lisa A. Carroll Holmes,

children, Dez, LiShel, Dmiran, Chade, Shelvie and stepson Darrian, parents

Catherine Burton and Shelvie Holmes Sr., sister Shikla (Shawnie) Holmes, five

grandchildren, four sisters in-law, good friends, Roger, Dana, and Carlos, special

cousins, James, Earl and Paul and a host of relatives and friends.
