Sherman Jerome Hawkins made his peaceful transition from this life to his etneral life on Friday, February 26, 2010. Sherman, the son of Frances Hawkins and James Jones deceased, was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 28, 1954. He was unselfishly placed into the loving hands of John and Rose House both deceased who raised Sherman along with their other five children. As a youngster he gave his life to Christ and was baptized by Rev, William Payne at Wayland Baptist Church in Baltimore. After graduating from Baltimore City College, Sherman attended the University of Maryland at College Park. He was a grifted artist and an all-around people magnet. His buoyant personality attracted people from across the spectrum. Sherman loved the excitement of interacting with his friends and family. He could always be depended upon to bring speark to any social occasion. He was loved and respected by his family and his peers. Sherman was preceded in death by his brothers, George and James House. He leaves to cheerisdh his precious memory; his mother, Frances Hawkins Scott; his sisters, Gloria House Catlett, Regina House Shah and Octavia Scott Cerezo; his brother, John Garner House; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Y. House, Rosalind House and Harriet House; brothers-in-law, John Catlett, Ghassan Shah and Steven Cerezo; an aunt, Luddie Taylor and an uncle, Floyd Hawkins, In addition, he is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
