Obituary

SHIRLEY (MACKALL) LEWIS, beloved daughter of the late

Mr. Edward Mackall and late Mrs. Zelma Mackall, was born on

May 17, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland. Shirley made her transition

from earthly labor to heavenly rest on Friday, May 6, 2022.

Shirley received her early education in Baltimore City Public

Schools and received her diploma from Carver Vocational

Technical High School. Shirley worked various jobs in Baltimore

before retiring in 1994.

Shirley fell in love and married the late Mr. Raymond Lewis

on July 15, 1986. Shirley and Raymond created many memories

together. They enjoyed planting flowers and hosting card games.

Shirley was known to many for her "Firecracker" personality. She

was the

"chef" of the family. She loved to cook big meals and

gather as a family to tell everyone her travel stories. Her hobbies

included her passion to travel, her love to gamble (Queen Slot

Machine), watching old reruns of the Golden Girl and Mama's

Family, watching trivia game shows, and celebrating every holiday

that requires family to visit her.

She is preceded in death by her husband Raymond Lewis, son

Antonio Holmes, grandson Darrell Holmes and best friend Rosa

Flood.

She leaves to treasure her many precious memories: two sons,

Lloyd Holmes Jr. and Michael Holmes; one daughter, Dr. Shantell

Taylor; two sisters, Rochelle Blackwell and Joann Mackall;

best friend, Lizzie Stokes; special friend, Alvin Maganaye; ten

grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of loving

nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
