On April 4, 1944, SHIRLEY JOAN PIERRE entered this world in Fanny Village, Point Fortin, Trinidad. Shirley was the first of five siblings. She and her siblings were raised in Fanny Village her parents Jean Pierre and Jonan John. In 1970, Shirley Pierre married Errol Blenman. Shirley B. migrated to Baltimore, Maryland in 1976. She was a dedicated employee of the State for over thirty years. God blessed Shirley with two children. Shirley was a loving, supportive and devoted mother. Shirley gave each of her two children half of her. In Tasha you see Shirley's free, fun spirit, her humorous nature, her quirky sense of style, her joy of dance, her love of music and mas and her dedication to all things Trinidadadian. You didn't need to know Shirley well to know how much she loved her native country, Trinidad & Tobago. Shirley reveled in her culture and wore her country colors with pride. Shirley B. was a "Trini to de bone". In Errol you see Shirley's determined spirit, her work ethic, her joy of learning, her analytical mind, her sense of fairness, her quick wit, her candid, outspoken way, and her dedication to family. If you knew Shirley well, you felt like you knew her children, grandchildren, parents and siblings. She spoke of them often and reenacted their manners and speech perfectly. To the rest of us Shirley gave an example. An example of how to speak and live honestly, how to give generously, how to make and keep good friends, how to keep it real, how to take a chance and make light of small losses, how to overcome adversity with good cheer, how to live in the moment and enjoy each experience, and how to live life to the fullest. On Saturday, September 28, 2013, God called Shirley home. She answered the call and left this world behind at 7:17 p.m. Shirley leaves to cherish her memory: children, Natashales Longhenry and Errol Pierre; grandchildren, Demetrius Pierre, Jonathan Pierre and Tyler Pierre; siblings, Rupert John, Patrick John and Israel Stanisclause; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
