Obituary

Shirley Dews was affectionately known as Tootie, daughter of the late
Edward K. Gray Sr., and Ella Gray was born on November 14, 1937 in
Mardela Springs, Maryland. She departed this life on October 11, 2017
after a lengthy illness in Baltimore, Maryland.

They moved to Baltimore, MD in 1940 and she received her education in
the Baltimore City Public Schools.

In 1960 she met Franklin Dews and they later joined in Holy Matrimony
and no children.

She gained employment at City Hospital for a long time in the Laundry
and House Keeping Departments until she retired.

She was a member of Agape House.

Tootie was the life of any party. She will truly be missed.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Franklin Dews; one
sister, Elizabeth Butler; one aunt, Mable Core; one brother Poppy who
preceded her in death, also seven aunts, two uncles, seven uncles-in-law
who also preceded her in death; three nieces, Charlayne, Christy and Dana;
four nephews, Rodney (Senora), Colt, Rent (Renea), and Marvin; two
great nieces, Seteria and Latisha; three great nephews, Coltie, Rod and
Darius and eight great great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and
friends.
