"Shelama" (Shirley) May Goins was born May 15, 1938 to
the late Herbert and Mary Long. Shirley became ill years
ago but fought a long fight until God said "Well done my Child"
and called her home on June 12,2018.

Shirley attended Baltimore City School System and
graduatedfrom Douglass High School. She worked as
a Caretaker for overthirty five years and loved every
minute of it. Shirley cared for many children and loved
each as if they were her own.

Shirley gave her life to God at an early age, loved the Lord
and was Baptized. It made her very happy to be able to
serve the Lord and usher. It pleased her sole to attend
church and insisted the family do the same.

Shirley loved her family and her grandchildren were her
heart. She took joy in seeing her great grand kids. She
had a smile that would light up a room and a laugh that
would tickle your ear. Cleanliness was next to godliness
in Shirley eyes. She tookpride in her appearance and
made sure her family did the same. All the nieces still
remember her clean underwear checks.

Cooking gave Shirley pleasure. She also loved having
her home clean and in order. She would scrub her floors
until they shined. In her later years you could find Shirley
sitting enjoying a cup of coffee and chatting with family
or a neighbor. Shirley loved going to get her hair done
every Saturday, only Nettie can do her hair at 6:00 a.m.
Saturday morning.

Shirley Goins married the late Timothy Goins Sr. and
from the union six children were born. She was
preceded in death by two of her sons, Timothy and
Anthony Goins.

She leaves to cherish her memories: three sons,
Nathaniel, Kenneth and Maurice; one daughter
Shelby Goins; the kids she raised as her own,
Shanay Rucker, David and Jeremy Epstein; two
daughters-in- law, Sharon and Tonya Goins; two
sisters, Bertha and Barbra; four sisters-in-law,
Pearl, Bell, Margret and Dorothy; eight grandchildren,
Tavon, Nicole, Wayne, Monzoureen, Kenneth Jr.,
Kanard,Joshua, Ayana; five great grandchildren,
Destiny, Tayvia, Tyler, Kyrek and Adrian; two
grandsons preceded her in death,Brandon Ferguson
and Quantaz Christian; her grandchildren,
Kashera, Zakira, Nayyerah and Zaki.
