IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shirley D.
Hood
November 18, 1945 – January 20, 2018
Shirley Delois Hood
daughter of the late Joseph and Minnie Hood,
was born on November 18, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed
this life January 20, 2018 at Northwest Hospital Center-Seasons Hospice.
Shirley was educated at the historic Frederick Douglass High School.
She spent over twenty years in the restaurant field as a waitress and
spent fourteen years as a Janitorial Engineer at Fort George G. Meade,
Maryland before retiring.
Shirley was an avid reader, reading three to four novels a day; she truly
enjoyed a good romance. Her favorite author was Janet Evanovich, and
she was reading the "Hardcore Twenty-Four" Stephanie Plum series
before she was hospitalized. Shirley also enjoyed her daily chats with her
dear friends of forty years, Geraldine Harrison and May Gasque. They
would talk sometimes two to three times a day.
Shirley's greatest joy was her family and she leaves to cherish her
memories: a daughter, Stephanie Hood; five grandchildren, Raniere
Chante' Flowers, Roscoe Dunham Flowers Jr., Dajhae Rockia Flowers,
Arianna Shirley Grace Hood and Cameron Joseph Ross Hood; one
sister-in law, Josephine Hood, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Roscoe Dunham Flowers;
her sisters, Lucille Hood and Betley Jones, and her brother, Joseph Hood.
