Obituary

Shirley Mae Johnson, daughter of the late Herbert and Wilma Mae Johnson was born on December 22, 1944. Shirley departed this life and went home to the Lord Jesus Christ on December 3, 2013. Shirley received her education in Baltimore City Public Schools. Shirley knew her main assignment was to serve the Lord. Shirley was a good person with a big heart. She loved everyone she came in contact with. Shirley took on the role in the family as the one to show them how to wing and introduce them to the Lord and trust in Him. Throughout her life she took on the role to her nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews to try to be like there second mother. She loved kids as well. Shirley love to cook and help prepare large meals for the family and the large family events. Shirley became friends with everyone she met though her life. From South Baltimore to Allendale Road to the last place of residence, Abundant Life Towers, Shirley met a lot of friends and acquaintances along the way. In the late 80's early 90's Shirley joined Bethel A.M.E. Church and served in Hospitality. Shirley also joined Wayland Baptist Church in the late 90's early millennium. She also served in Hospitality and helped out as much as she could in Wayland Baptist Church. Shirley moved up Abundant Life Towers where she met more friends. She helped cook and also serve dinners at the senior building. All of the tenants there took to Shirley just like her second family. Shirley also took care of James Johnson Jr. Shirley had 12 siblings, Minnie Johnson, Sharon "Plummy" Johnson, Milton Johnson, Charles Johnson and James "Buddy" Johnson preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn: her sisters, Rebecca Carolina, Louise Jackson, Rose Ross and Sandra Johnson; brothers, Frank Johnson, Chris Johnson and Johnny Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Johnson and Sharon Johnson and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
