Shirly Mae Williams, was the last surviving family member born to Maston T. and Isabelle Dennis Bass. She lived her earJ1life in East Baltimore, attended Dunbar High School and was a lifetime member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church where her father served as a founding church Dea- con. Her father and stepmother, Inez Bass had a great influence on the family. She had three sisters and one brother who preceded her in death. Shirley married Harry C. Dennis and they had only one daughter, Diane. Shirley trained at Apex Beauty School in cosmetology. She was an excellent cook and housekeeper. Nothing gave her more pleasure than cooking, cleaning and helping others. Her life wasfull with others from the church, community and homes of family and friends. She sure did like a "mission impossible" situation and rejoiced in taming it down to some sense of completion. Shirley worked hard, played hard and loved hard. If she could help you, she did just that. She worked tirelessly in many church ministries. She was always very proud of her "children's" accomplishments. She was a great supporter and will be missed greatly. Submitted by her daughter with love. Shirley leaves to celebrate her life: one daughter, Diane; one niece, De- nise Turner; one nephew, Gordon Haynes; one sister-in-law, Beatrice Dennis and her entire "clan"; one childhood friend, Cornelia Duboise Smith and a host of families and friends.
