STANLEY COLES was born on October 26, 1947 to the late Shirley
and Rosa Ann Coles. He departed this life and transitioned into eternal
rest on Aprill7, 2016. He was affectionately known as Bruh and Clyde.
Clyde attended the Baltimore City Public School System, and
graduated from Dunbar High School where he excelled on the
basketball team. In school he was known as "class clown-Mr. Brown."
Because he liked to be the class clown, his teachers would punish him
by making him sit in the hall with gum on his nose. Clyde would hate
when his mother came to the school due to his behavior. She would
whip his behind in front of the entire class.
When it came to partying and dancing, Clyde could cut a rug with
his smooth moves. His favorite group was the Temptations. He was
often told he looked like Eddie Kendricks because of his slender build
and handsome height.
A person of many talents, Clyde was employed at the Edmonson
Hotel as a teenager, Western Electric, Meals on Wheels, and retired
from the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his father, Shirley Coles, mother,
Rosa Coles; brother, Reginald Coles; and sister, Sheila Simms.
Leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Lisa Coles; his son,
Stanley Coles, Jr. (and kids); grandchildren, Gerrard L. Williams,
Jr. and Christina-Taylor Smith; sisters, Ann Starnes and Charlene
Hyman; God-daughter, Wanda Clark; and a host of niece, nephews,
other relatives and friends. Memorial Service Joseph H. Brown Jr. Funeral Home
