Stanley "Stan" McClellan was born on August 17, 1959, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late John Henry McClellan and Mary McClellan. On December 6, 2024, after a lengthy battle with heart disease, God called Stan home while he was surrounded by loved ones.
Stanley received his education in the Baltimore City Public School System including attending Frederick Douglas High School.
Stan had a dedicated and accomplished work history. He began his career in retail grocery. working at Super Pride Supermarket. He later transitioned to the Baltimore City Detention Center (City Jail). where he served as a Correctional Officer for 20 years. After leaving the City Jail, Stan joined the United States Postal Service, where he worked diligently until his retirement after 19 years of service.
Stan will forever be remembered as a loving, outgoing. outspoken and one of God's toughest fighters who could light up any room with his charisma or even a sly but funny remark. He had a special gift for making people laugh, and his infectious personality left an indelible mark on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Whether he was cracking jokes, or simply offering a piece of advice. Stan's warmth and wit made him unforgettable. The scent of his cologne Lingered long after he Ieft the room, a funny and fitting reminder of his vibrant presence.
Growing up. he loved attending parties and dancing, a passion he carried into adulthood. Stan would likely consider himself the life of the party! Concerts. comedy shows, playing cards, and traveling were an important part of his life, bringing him immense joy. The most satisfying feeling and enjoyment for Stan was going fishing with his son and three good friends Tyrell. Chico, and Bennie. They would all compete for the title of King Fisherman, which was always funny because they would end up throwing back so many little fish.
Family and friends meant the world to Stan, many would even consider him their "favorite" brother, uncle, or friend and he cherished the time spent with those closest to him. His vibrant spirit. and unwavering love for life were apparent in everything he did. Stan's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, as a man who truly knew how to embrace the joy in every moment.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Henry McClellan, mother Mary McClellan and sister Denise McClellan.
Stanley leaves to cherish his fond memories, his wife Donna McClellan, his son Stanley McClellan II. his daughter Crystal McClellan, stepdaughter Tiffany Sparkman (Kevin), adopted children Jenise Streat, Chad Streat and his beloved grandchildren Stanely Ill, Bryx, Chloe and Lamont. He was also survived by his sisters Cassandra, Sharmane, Brenda, and Michelle. his brothers. Anthony (Linda). Allen (Alice), and Cedric and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends who will miss him dearly.
