Obituary

Stephen Odell china, the son of Alice China and the late Odell China, was born on July 3, 1950 in Fuquay Spring, North Carolina. He was the first child of eight children born out of this union. Two of his sibling preceded him in death, David and Sterling. As a young child, Steve, as everyone called him, moved to Baltimore, Maryland with his family. Steve received his education in the Baltimore City School System. Steve was joined in Holy Matrimony to Gloria China. He was employed with USF&G until the company moved out of town. He then was employed at Quest Diagnostic until he took ill. Steve practiced Buddhism for twenty years, after leaving he started Neo Tech. Steve was known for his favorite quote, "Let's Rock & Roll!" If someone needed advice and called upon him, he would give it to them honest and straight forward. Steve has two sons with Shirley Paige and a daughter with Ellie Mae Singletary. Steve leaves to celebrate his life; his children, Stephen China, Jr. and David china and Yvonne China; two grandchildren, David, Jr. and Devin; his mother, Alice china; three sisters, Cheryle Short, Lisa China and Tia Dalmida; two brothers, Kevin China and Michael China; thirteen nieces, Dana, Shenel, Tanima, Nikki, Kasi, Chrissy, Latryce, Nichelle, Danielle, Brittany, Octavia, Wendi and Kamiya; nine nephews, Otis Jr., Kevin Jr., Eric Jr., Torrey, Tyrone, Josh, Brandon, Bilah and Antwan; one daughter-in-law, Diane; one brother-in-law, Tyrone II, one aunt, Jessie Mae Harris; one uncle, T.J. Harris; and a host of great- nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
