Steven would take the youth on outings like the monster truck shows and other exciting venues using his personal funds for the entertainment. He began working as a surveyor for EBA Engineering in 2002. Another desire was to have a wife. He met a special young lady, Cassandra Ann Patterson, in September 2002. She made such an impact on his life that they began dating in January 2003. Realizing he could not live with without her, they married on August 11, 2003. After being away from the church for a while, he reinstated his membership with Wayside Church in November 2003 with his wife by his side. Steven attended and completed the First Step Program at Wayside which lead him to serve in different ministries. He had a love for singing and to share his gift of song he joined the Wayside Wailers. He attended Bible Study and Sunday School classes. Steven also served on the Missionary Board of the church. He later joined a group of musicians called the Calvary Crusaders where he along with the group members were able to go in all area of Maryland singing songs of Zion and lifting up the name of Jesus.
