Obituary

Steven Gregory Murray, son of the late Bernard Murray and Barbara Ann

Murray, was born on February 22, 1960, in Baltimore, Maryland. Steven

departed this life on September 9, 2019.

Steven, better known as "Stevie," excepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior

at a young age. As a child, his late grandmother, Virginia Johnson, insisted that

he be baptized by the late Dr. Harold A. Carter Sr. He loved the Lord.

Stevie was a bricklayer by trade. He worked for different construction compa-

nies throughout the years.

Stevie was a man of few words. Some would be intimidated by his disposition.

Once his hard exterior was cracked, beneath was a gentle-hearted soul. A soul

that loved who he loved unconditionally and passionately. Those who did not

know him, may have been scared away by his so-called " mean mug". That was

their loss. Stevie came from lions; he was not a lamb and of course, would show

his fangs from time to time. This was to let you know that he was not to be

"messed with."

Stevie loved his family dearly. He stood by the side of his beloved first cousin

Marty, who proceeded him in death, after a lengthy illness. Marty was like a

brother to him, and Stevie never stopped mourning his death. There is some

peace in knowing that they are together, sharing old times, watching over the

family, and letting us know in their unique way that they still have our backs.

After he passed, his mom picked up two pennies from the sidewalk; "pennies

from heaven". Of course, she wanted to know what numbers were on them.

Stevie had a special love with his brother Renard, AKA "Moe". The two were

as thick as thieves. When you saw one, the other was not too far behind. People

often asked if they were twins. Their bond will not be broken, not even in death.

He loved who he loved. Those that knew him, knew him well; but those who

didn't, he did not care to explain it to them. Some of Stevie's last memories were

of2837 W. Garrison Ave, where he grew up and made him the man that he was.

His last words were, "I love you." What a perfect ending to his story.

Stevie leaves to mourn his beloved mother, Barbara Ann Murray, son, Steven

Murray Jr., granddaughters, brothers Leon Shade, Michael Shade (Barbara),

Renard Murray, Bernard Shade, Derek Jones, sisters, Angela Shade, Kay Shade,

Adrienne Shade (proceeded in death), Danielle Shade, aunts, and a host of

nieces, nephews that are far too many to mention.
