Sylvester Hudson, son of the late Jenkins and Dora Fleming Hudson was born April 23, 1919 in Mayesville, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Carli, Herbert, Albertis, McQuilla and Jenkins and four sisters, Rosa Green, Olivia Wilson, Sarah Cooper and Evelyn Wheeler Durant. He received his formal education in the public school system of Lee County, South Carolina. He later joined the Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Mayesville, South Carolina. In later years he moved to Baltimore, Maryland where he did construction work. Sylvester was united in holy matrimony to the late Ester Chandler Hudson. According to God's promises he came for Sylvester Hudson on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at the Bon Secours Hospital. He will be grestly missed by family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory; three sisters, Victoria King of Brooklyn, New York, Olive Hampton of Mayesvilles, South Carolina, and Sallie Elijah Thomas of Baltimore, Maryland; brother Isiah Helen Hudson of Baltimore, Maryland; aunt, Estelle Murray of Mayesville, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Mattie Hudson, Sarah Hudson and Mable Couser; several stepchildren and grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
