Sylvester James, was born on April 28, 1940 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Booker T. James and Doris Elliott. He departed this life on July 18, 2013 at Northwest Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. After a lengthy illness life he was preceded in death by his brothers, Willie Calvin Staggs and Stewart Staggs and his sisters, Vivian Clark and Eleanor Staggs. Sylvester also known as "Vester" attended public school in Baltimore, MD. He worked many jobs and retired from selling papers on disability at Baltimore Sun Paper Company of Baltimore, MD. He absolutely loved repairing wheel chairs and making sure they were bright, clean, shiny and ready to go at all times. He enjoyed going out and dancing. Sylvester liked to watch wrestling, different kinds of sports and old western movies. He also enjoyed helping his family and friends with small projects and going to flea markets from time to time. He leaves to cherish his memory: one brother, John James of Baltimore, Maryland; sister-in-law, Carolyn James; nieces, Olivia Mack, Doris James and Carolyn Seuers; cousin, Marion Whitehurst of Baltimore, Maryland; his friend, Elizabeth Brewer of Baltimore, Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
