Sylvester "Joe" richardson, son of the late Arkey and Gertrude
Richardson was born on May 14, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this
life on July 13, 2016 after a lengthy illness.

Joe received his education in the Baltimore Public School System, He worked many
years in the healthcare system and retired as a housekeeping supervisor. Joe
attended Memorial Baptist Church in South Boston, VA He loved God and his
church family.

He was affectionately known to his family and friends as "Doc." His love for his
family was evident in the bond he shared with his children, grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. He loved to shoot pool with the fellas, play games on his
IPAD, listen to music and watch baseball with his daughter, Vennie. Joe thought
he was a farmer. He took pride in growing his tomato plant. He nurtured it like it
was his "baby".

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arkey and Gertrude Richardson; his
siblings, Mary Brown, Beulah, Delroy, Nathaniel and Arkey Richardson Jr., and
Deloris Waith.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: a loving fiance, Teresa Stewart; four
children, Wayne Richardson Sr., Charlotte Butterworth (Chyann), Aletha Ford,
Lavinia Glenn (Vennie); mother of his children, Charlotte Richardson; one step-
son, Jerod Porter; three son-in-laws, Kevin, Gary and Mike; ten grandchildren,
Eric, Wayne Jr., Shatia (Mommie), Destiny, Shameeka, Shanerra, Jarrod, Daquan-
ta, Quanterra and Jayson; six great-grandchildren, Andrew, Melah, Mariyah (Lil
Mommie), KaZeigh (BG), Kensley and Janicia; two brothers, Thomas and Maurice
Richardson; three sisters, Gertrude Gray, Viola and Rochelle Richardson; one
brother-in-law, Roderic Gray; one sister-in-law, Shirley Richardson and a host of
