Sylvia Acquanetta Laney, daughter of William and Mary Clark, was born August 6, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on May 2, 2017.

She worked for C&P Telephone Company, which then became Bell Atlantic, finally known as Verizon where she worked for more than 20 years and retired from the popular telecommunications company.

She wedded William Laney, Jr., and had two sons, her firstborn, Darryl Laney and her second born, Jonathan William Laney. She took on the task help raised her Niece, Keonia Unique Clark, and then went on to help raised her Great-Niece, Ar'rianna Michael Frasier, Jr.

She devoted her time during her retirement to learning new things from crocheting and sewing to learning new recipes from her favorite cooking shows to have for family dinners. She even came out of retirement twice to put her second son through college.

She being the youngest and the only girl of her three brothers. She leaves to mourn two sons, Darryl and Jonathan Laney. A Niece, Keonia Unique Clark and Great-Niece, Ar'rianna Michael Fraiser, Jr. Three brothers:

Bernard Clark, Albert Clark and Leonard Clark, and a host of relatives and friends that have all been in her life throughout the years.
