Obituary

On Thursday, November 3, 2016, The Almighty God called home from labor to reward TAMMY MARIA FORD. She departed this life peacefully in her sleep after a brief heart illness.

She was the daughter of the late Edward Ford Sr. and Dorothy Mae Ford, born October 7, 1959. As a child Tammy attended St. Joseph F.W.B. Church, under the leadership of Bishop Austin Barnes where she was baptized. Tammy was a member of the Girl Scouts of Maryland where she earned many awards and realized her compassion to help others especially children and the elderly.

She attended Baltimore City Public Schools and graduated from Northern High School with Honors in 1977. She received her Associate Degree in nursing from Essex Community College in 1981 and received her Undergraduate Degree in Nursing from Coppin State University in 1982. Tammy was eager to learn all she could so that she could help care for the sick. She worked at Greater Baltimore Medical Center's CFHC in pediatrics during her summers in high school. She worked at Franklin Square Hospital for 3 years. She also worked at Johns Hopkins in pediatrics for 3 years and worked as a private duty nurse until her health begin to fail.

She was a quiet person that always had a big smile and a big heart that made her want to help others any way she could. She loved to travel, go out to eat, family holiday gatherings, look at TV, go to the movies and listen to mus.ic.

She truly loved her family and friends and simply adored her nieces and nephews. They were her pride and joy. She will be missed by all.

She leaves to mourn: Four sisters: Earline Washington, Patricia Harris, Vivian Ford, and Pier-Angela Ford. Two brothers: Edward Ford Jr. and Mark Ford. Three brothers that preceded her in death: Michael Cooper, Aaron Ford, and Reginal Ford. Five aunts: Frances McQueen, Rosalie, Mary, Roberta, and Lorraine Byrd. Four uncles: Joseph S. Ford, Ernest Byrd, George Byrd Jr., and Elijah McQueen. Two Brother-in-Iaws Curtis Washington Sr. and Haywood Harris and a host of nieces, nephews and other family relatives and friends.
