IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tammy
Thompson
December 12, 1962 – February 6, 2018
Tammy Goldie Thompson, daughter of the late Maude
Greene and Allen Anderson, was born in Baltimore,
Maryland on December 12, 1962. She passed in peace on
February 6, 2018 surrounded by her family and friends.
She was 55 years old.
Tammy was a wonderful woman whom we love and dearly
miss. She will always be remembered and cherished by
her family and friends. Tammy was a loving and proud
mother to Jade Thompson. "Mom Mom", as she was
affectionately called by her beloved granddaughter
Isabella Rose Acevedo, was an amazing and devoted
grandmother. Tammy lived each day to the fullest and
always had a smile on her face.
Tammy was renowned for her cooking skills and creativity.
Her home was always full of love, good food, fun, and
laughter where all were welcome. During her busy life, she
still found time to spread kindness and to freely offer a
helping hand. Her family was her priority and joy; she did
everything she could to ensure their happiness. She was a
loyal and devoted friend. We will miss her and love her
always.
Tammy received her education in the Baltimore City Public
School system and earned a high school diploma from
Western High School. She received her Bachelors of Arts
degree from University of Maryland University College.
During her career at Johns Hopkins University School of
Medicine, Tammy worked as a coordinator tor senior
residency and postdoctoral fellowships programs. Her
hard work and dedication helped to make the Nuclear
Medicine Residency and Fellowship program the number
one program in the world. Tammy took a special interest
in each fellow and resident and was their constant
cheerleader and support, helping them in any way
possible. As with all aspects of her life, her coworkers
were, her extended family and she cared deeply about
them.
Tammy will be fondly remembered as a loving and
devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and
coworker. She lived each day to the fullest and spread
love, laughter, joy and her unique sense of sarcasm.
Tammy is preceded in death by her beloved mother
Maude Greene, father Allen Anderson, Sister Melva
Cochrell, brother Melvin Lomax, and caregiver Florine
"Bobbie" Barber. Tammy is survived by her daughter Jade
Thompson, granddaughter Isabella Rose Acevedo, sister
Pamela Thompson-Brown, brothers Peter Thompson and
Levern "Rocky" Bey, nieces Bernadette, Tara, Maya,
Kandi, Isa, and Brittany; nephews Chucky, PJ, and Paul;
dearest and closest friends Arnold, Bardett, Pam, and
Rose; godchildren Jessica and Caruso, and a host of
family, including in-laws, and friends.
Tammy did not want us to grieve her death but rather to
celebrate her life. Let us all celebrate her life by living our
lives to the fullest and spreading love, joy and a little
sarcasm.
