IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tara L.
Jackson
January 7, 1963 – December 18, 2018
Tara L
y
nn Jackson,
entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday,
December 18, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Tara was the daughter of John R.
Somerville and the late Eleanor F. Somerville. She was born on January 7,
1963.
Tara was united in marriage to Craig Jackson in March 1985. In this union,
they were blessed to be the parents of three daughters; Shinnele, Tierra and
LaToya. Tara was preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor Somerville, four
siblings, Johnny, Louise, Lionel and Donnell.
Through her trials and tribulations, Tara established a strong faith in God but
was looking for an intimate relationship with her savior. She found great
comfort in listening to spirituals and sermons on the radio and TV. In
addition, Tara would attend Whitestone Baptist Church and various Gospel
. Concerts at different churches. She was faithful in doing these things until
her illness incapacitated her.
Family gatherings for her birthday and holiday celebrations were special to
her and she was sure to be present. As Tara's illness began to incapacitate
her body, her will to live on and her thrive for survival, never waivered. She
loved being with her grandchildren, the two oldest (Tietonia & Taz'shawna)
followed her everywhere she went. They became shadows that would never
disappear whether it was day or night.
Despite Tara's illness, she always found time to encourage those who may
be going through rough times in their life. She had a big loving heart. She
would open her door to offer a meal to the hungry, or place to lay their head
at night.
Tara leaves precious memories in the hearts of her children; Shinnelle Moore
