March 21, 1958 – March 17, 2022
Teresa Irene Keating (nee Hawkins) was born the
fifth child of George and Ida Hawkins in Baltimore,
Maryland. She departed this life on March 17, 2022
after a short illness.
Affectionately known as Moochie, she attended Baltimore City Public Schools, graduating from Edmondson High School in June 1976. Teresa worked amyriad of jobs before settling into her career with theUnited States Postal Service, in July 1988, fromwhence she retired on October 31, 2019, totaling 31years.
In November 1977, she married Herman Keating andfrom that union came two children: Ishea and Breon.
Teresa enjoyed the excitement of the casino and a
good game of Spades. Everyone who knew her was
aware that trash talk across the card table was one of
her favorite pastimes, topped only by watching court
and game shows. Teresa loved to cook for her family
and her homemade potato salad was famous.
Teresa was preceded in death by her husband,
Herman, to whom she was married for 29 years, her
parents, George, Sr. and Ida; two sisters, Pamela and
Cynthia, and one brother, Boyd, Sr. (Big Pete). She
leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Ishea
Keating and son Bren Keating; siblings Brenda
(Maurice), Debra (Rodney), and George, Jr.; grand-
children Shyheem, Kayla, Rhyan, Braylen, and
Reagan; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
