IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Teresa
Peters
June 1, 1946 – July 15, 2018
TERESA
Comegys Peters
PITCHFOR
D
,
daughter of the late
Raymond E. and the late Tovolia V. Comegys, was born
June 1, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the oldest of
eight (8) children. Affectionately known as "Tree," Teresa
departed this earthly life on July 15,2018 at St. Agnes Hospital.
Teresa was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System.
Her high school diploma was received in 1964 from Frederick Douglass
High School. After graduation, she sought employment with Montgomery
Ward retail stores and later retired from Brooks Armored Car Service, Inc.
(GardaWorld). Teresa also worked part-time for Maryland National Bank
and Baltimore City Public Schools.
During the 1960's, Teresa Comegys married the late Leroy Peters.
In 1994, Teresa met her partner of 24 years, John Pitchford (Johnny).
Teresa and Johnny took their marital vows on August 24,2016.
Although Teresa had no children of her own, she was "Mother" to many.
Teresa was feisty, outspoken, and straightforward but also generous and
kind. She would always tell her nieces and nephews to "stick together.
" Teresa could talk to anyone, both young and old. It was nothing for her
to pick up the phone and call you, just to say
"
You know I Lov
e
You
!"
She was truly the embodiment of love and forgiveness. She was known
in Edmondson Village for stopping to talk to friends and neighbors on her
daily walks to play the lottery and to get scratch-offs. She loved to play her
numbers and enjoyed day trips "up the road." She loved the simple things
in life, like sitting on thefront porch in the mornings and" long telephone
conversations. If you didanything for her, Teresa would reply
"
Thank You
,
I'll dan
ce
at your w
e
dding.
"
Preceding Teresa in death were siblings Janice Eberhart and Shennan Sr.,
and nephew Sherman Jr.
Teresa leaves to cherish her memory: Her husband, John Pitchford; one
stepdaughter, Apryl Burnham; three grandchildren, Khyon, Khiari, and
Kamyah; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Ralph, Arnett (Angela), and
Ricky (Jennifer); two sisters, Roslyn Adams and Sheila Comegys; 15 nephews
and nieces; 32 great nephews and nieces; 7 great great nephews and nieces;
and a whole host of relatives and friends.
