Obituary

This man cried and the Lord Heard him. Terrane Elliott Taylor, beloved son of the late James E. Taylor and Carrie T. Williams was born on May 29,1956 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on May 20,2013 at Gilchrist Hospice Center after a lengthy illness. "Man" as he was affectionately known, was a happy jolly child born without sight. God saw to it that he was able to see what He wanted him to see. As a child, Man's musical ability was evidence by his ability to teach himself how to play the piano, flute, drums and harmonica. He had an appreciation for all kinds of music. Stevie Wonder, The Temptations and Marvin Gay are among his favorite artist. One of his many favorite songs was "God Didn't Make Little Green Apples" by O. C. Smith, you could always count on hearing him say "You better believe it" and "I'm fine, (Braise the Lord'. Terrane was excited about his birthday and would let you know several months in advance that his birthday was coming up...you could always hear him say...you know my birthday is May 29th and it's only so many days away. He would give you the exact number of days!. It was truly a BLESSING that he was able to celebrate his birthday early this year with family and friends. He was a real soldier because he endured and enjoyed the celebration as much as those that were in attendance. Terrane received his formal education from The Maryland School for the 'Blind and graduated from there. He amazed people with his ability to remember the words of almost any song one could hear on the radio or musical CD. He not only knew the words, but could tell you who sung it and when it was recorded. He was a very intelligent person with a God-given gift of music. In July, 1979 Man became a member of Maranatha Baptist Church under the leadership of 'Pastor Howard and continued his service under the leadership of Pastor Theodore Jones. He was a faithful member in spite of his illness which prevented him from attending church. He served as the Minister of Music and Musical Director for 33 years. The members of Maranatha Baptist Church were a second family to Terrane. His repertoire of Gospel music ranged from Traditional to Contemporary. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Carrie T. Williams: Three brothers, Robert, Marese, Troy: Six sisters, Gwendolyn, Rachel, Michele, Delthea, Vanessa and Yvette; Four Brothers-in-law,Sam, Ben Sr., John Traynham and John Jones; One sister-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
