IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thelma L.
Clark
October 11, 1918 – April 13, 2019
Mrs. Thelma Louise Clark (nee Dix) was born to Robert and Lula Mae Dix on
October 11, 1918 in Roanoke, Virginia. She was the last surviving sibling of
four girls and three boys.
She received her education from the Roanoke School System.
After her education, Thelma married Leo Coleman, Sr., and to this union four
children were born: Brenda, Leo Jr., Melvin (deceased), and Charles (de-
ceased). Leo Sr. pre-deceased her, and Thelma later moved to Baltimore,
Maryland. Thelma later had two other children: Cynthia and Larry.
In 1965 Thelma met Raymond Clark (deceased) and the two were united in
marriage. No children were born to this union.
Thelma accepted Christ as her personal Savior. While in Baltimore she convert-
ed to the Catholic faith and joined the St. Ambrose Catholic Church where she
was a member for over fifty years. She faithfully attended until her health
failed.
Even in her 70's, Thelma loved to travel with her daughter, Cynthia, and
son-in-law and grand-kids to various destinations, such as California, Las
Vegas, Wildwood New Jersey, and Bermuda. She, too, enjoyed Disneyland as
much as her grand-kids while vacationing with them at Disneyland, California.
In October 2018 on the occasion of her 100th birthday, she was pleasantly
surprised when her church family celebrated her with a birthday party in her
home. She was so honored and excited that she was fondly remembered by her
dear friends.
On April 13, 2019, Thelma's struggle with various health issues ended. God
softly whispered her name and called her to eternal rest. She had fought a good
fight and won the battle.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Brenda, Leo, Cynthia, and
Larry; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other
relatives and friends.
