Obituary

Thelma Herring, was called by the Almighty God in His wise and divine providence from labor to reward. She departed this life after a lengthy illness on May 9, 2015. Thelma was the daughter of Estelle Brown and Lonnie Herring. She was born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 28, 1924. Thelma attended Baltimore City Public Schools and worked for many years in a factory "Cat's Paw" until she retired. Thelma was one of eight children. All have preceded her in death. Thelma resided at Patapsco Valley Nursing Home and made many friends while living there. Thelma lived a quiet life. Early on she could be seen going to and from work. On Saturdays, she loved to go downtown to shop. Later, she took care of her sister, Florence Brown. When Thelma's health began to fail she was taken care of by a wonderful friend, Beulah Grey. Thelma and her sister Florence Brown (Aunt Dickie) were inseparable. Like the Biblical personalities Naomi and Ruth. They supported and encouraged each other through the years. We thank God for our loved one and entrust her to the never failing care and love of our Heavenly Father, whose beloved Son promised "never to leave or forsake us." Thelma leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and numerous friends at Patapsco Valley Nursing Home.
