Thelma c. Knight was born on February 23, 1929 in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was the eldest of six children. On Tuesday, July 26, 2011, our Lord and Savior summoned an angel to esort our precious rose to her heavenly home. She was educated in the publi9c schools of Charlotte, North Carolina. When she was a teen ager, she journeyed to Baltimore with her mom and dad. Baltimore became her home. Thelma was baptized at First Church in Charlotte, North Carolina at an early age. She followed in the footsteps of her mom and jioned the New Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Harold Cater. Thelma worked for South General Hospital for more than 35 years as a menu coordinator. She later worked part-time for the University of Maryland medical System as a Dietary coordinator for 10 years. She was a very special woman, honest, dedicated, kind, and loved by all who knew her. Thelma was truly devoted to her family. It gave her great pleasure to raise and nuture her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and traveling. One of Thelma's past times was going to the Allen Center for Senior Citizens. Her love for travel took her on many excursions. Thelma is preceded in death by her daughter Rivanna P. Knoght; brother Jack Howard Knight and sister, g Gladys E. Ferguson. She leaves to cherish her wonderful memories; sons, Karl Key and Glenn Key; daughter, Cassandra Key; grandchildren, Gerard Knight, Ronald Dugan, Keith Dugan, Gary Keels, Arthur Keels, Cougar Key, Tremine Harris and Kaiah Armstrong; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Knight and George Foster Jr.; siter, Lena Forster and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
