Thelma Beatrice Makle was born on October 2, 1945 in Raleigh, North Carolina to the late Odessa Moore and Charlie Peten. She is predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Larry as well as two children Pricilla and Garrett and grandson Tavon. Thelma moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 1950 to live with her grandmother Hattie Peten. She was educated in the Baltimore City school system. She symbolized her dedication to her God Jehovah by being baptized on January 2, 1968. Thelma started her career working for the Baltimore City school system as a dietary aid and though hard work and perseverance was later promoted to a dietitian. Later in life, Thelma continued her career at Keswick Nursing Home where she later retired due to illness. She married the love of her life, Joseph (Teenie) Makle on December 7th, 1967. This was truly a blissful Union. Thelma and Joe were blessed to raise their children Priscilla, Gilbert, Garrett, Joseph Jr., and Tonia. They were also able to touch the lives of their many beloved grandchildren. Thelma was a loving, caring and compassionate person. She was a phenomenal woman; outspoken, hardworking sacrificing wife, mother and grandmother. Thelma leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband Joseph, three children Gilbert (Theresa), Joseph Jr. and Tonia (Eric). Grandchildren, Adrena, Tykisha, Tikura, Keyon, Kyle, Nelson, Meona, Konica, Kenon Stephen, Shanika, La'Shaye and many great grandchildren. Brothers Anthony (Lois) and James, sisters Marcia, Maxine, Tonia, Jean, Annie, and Debora(James). Brother in law Louis Makle (Lillian), sister in laws Shirley Dorsey and Mary Makle, dear cousins James (Piggy), Ronnie, and Susie. Special friends Charlene, Marcia, Phyllis, Rhonda and Tawanda and a host of other friends and relatives. Thelma will truly be missed, for her sparkling personality and amazing advice. Her distinct laugh and beautiful smile, her humor, and most importantly her presence will be missed but not forgotten.
