Obituary

Thelma Virginia McLeod, Daughter of the late Orrin and Inez McFadden was born July 20, 1930 in Lynchburg, Lee County , South Carolina.Thelma received her wings and gracefully took Gods hand as she peacefully took her rest on April 12, 2018.Thelma spent her childhood years on thefamily farm with her sister Audrey and brother Orrin.
She attended grade school in Cartersville S.C., however,
she walked five miles to catch the train to Bishopville for high
school to receive and education.

She was joined in matrimony with Herman McLeod on
September 18, 1949, from this union two children were born,
Dwain and Portia.In 1950 Thelma moved to Baltimore and in
1955 purchased a home on Mondawmin Avenue, she lived in
this home until her health declined.Thelma worked for
the College of Notre Dame for thirty nine years.Thelma had
a special connection with the faculty and students.Thelma
joined and was an active member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church.

?She was an usher and a member of the women's Auxiliary, she also sang on the choir.She loved her family, bowling, hand sewing and cooking.She was an exceptional cook, known for her homemade biscuits, pies and cakes.Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Herman and her son Dwain.Those left to cherish her memory is her daughter Portia (Tyrone), grandchildren Dana, Edward (Gail), Brandon, Jason , Toni and Damon.Ten great grandchildren, three sister in laws,
a very best friend Eloise Purdy and a host of other friends and relatives.
