Thelma Ernestine Moseley, daughter of Pearl Ernestine Waller and the late Howard Everett Jones, was born on May 15, 1947 in Baltimore, Ml). She departed this life on June 3, 2014, after a lengthy illness. For the past several years, she fought a long hard battle, but GOD saw fit to say, "Suffer no more my child; it's time to come home and take your seat amongst the angels in heaven". Some would even say she was a living angel on earth herself. Thelma, known within the family as Ernestine, was married to Adolphus Moseley, (though she called him Alan because she said Adolphus was too hard to pronounce.) Their love remained undying for 31 years until her death. Frank E. Gibson, Jr. affectionately called Frankie, was her one and only child and the apple of her eye. She was a constant in her mother Pearl's life; one would even say she was her favorite (smile). Thelma truly exemplified the traits of a good and faithful daughter always there at her Mother's beck and call, until her illness would not allow her to be. Thelma was educated in the Baltimore City Public School system and graduated from Carver High School. She attended nursing school and workedfor many years as a nurse's aide at the Manor Care Nursing Home. Thelma was a quiet soul, with a sweet spirit, and everyone and anyone who came into contact with her sensed this and her commitment to God. She was a woman of faith. She spent much of her early years and part of her adult life as a member of the Timothy Baptist Church, where she was baptized, and her mother still remains as a member. After she met and married Adolphus, she joined the Mt. Sinai Holy Church, Inc., of which he became Pastor. As the First Lady of Mt. Sinai Holy Church, Inc., she was loved and respected by all. She preached her trial sermon on March 22, 1998 and came up through the ranks, first as a Minister, then as an Evangelist. She served on many ministries and organizations. She was President of the National Youth Convention; President of the Annual Children's Day Service; and President of the Annual Ten Women of the Bible Program. Thelma was also a member of "The Survival of Grace Support team, " a group of cancer survivors who were near and dear to her heart. Those of you who knew her well, know that she had been battling this disease for a long time, first breast then colon cancer, but when it was all said and done, she quietly succumbed to a higher place and through the pearly gates of heaven, where God was waiting and said, "Well done thou good and faithful servant". Her favorite songs were: Hide behind the Mountain; When I Think of the Goodness-of Jesus and This Joy that I Have. Her favorite scriptures were: St. John 14: 1: "Let not your heart be troubled, " Psalm 23: "The Lord is my shepherd," and The Lord's Prayer. Thelma leaves to celebrate her home going: her husband, Adolphus Moseley; one son, Frank E. Gibson Jr.; her mother, Pearl E. Waller, two sisters, Linda M Harrington and Francine D.
