Obituary

Thelma Armstrong Patton, the daughter of the late Lonzo and Geneva Clawson Armstrong, was born on April 26, 1953, in York County, South Carolina. She departed this life on April 11, 2006 after a brief illness. She received her education in the South carolina School System. In 1953, she married the late William Jefferson Patton. Later, in 1959 she moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she was employed with the Dynasurf Company located on Fleet Street and retired in 2000. In 1973, she was fellowshipped into the Leadenhall Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the Senior Ushers Ministry for over thirty years and a member of the Kiterary & Social Guild Ministry. She loved her church, especially her Pastor and First Lady. Thelma affectionately known as ''Cat'' by her friends, was a wonderful cook for many of her family and friends. They would always make their way to Thelma's house to get something to eat and just to talk. She enjoyed and loved very dearly her granddchild and great grandchildren. She was the uplifting spirit of the family. Thelma will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her four daughters, Priscilla Dowing Barry, Glenda Dedmon Keith, Debra Patton of L.A., and Cheryl Johnson Gray Kevin; one son whom she adored, Kenneth Johnson; nine grandchildren, Antionette Dwayne, Marvin, Erica, Autumn, Marcus, Brendan, Raven, Taylor and Bryant; nine great grandchildren, Darrell, Dea, Zadeque, Callia, Zia, Cieara, Kadar, Bradley and Caiyah; one sister, Brenda Oates of Gastonia , N.C.; five brothers, Odell and Ray Flora armstrong of Gastonia, N.C., Edgar Linda of Lincolnton, N.C., Lonzo Armstrong Betty of Charlotte, N.C., and Henry Charlotte of New York; three aunts, Helen, aunts, Helen Clawson, Melva Armstrong and Catherine Armstrong; two uncles, J.D. Armstrong and Wilbur Wright; a special friend; a special friend, Mr. Franklin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
