Theodore ''Pete'' Betts, was the youngest of three born to the late Luevester Barksdale and Pete Betts on December 7, 1931 in South Boston, Virginia. He departed this life on June 21, 2006 after an lengthy illness. Pete, as he was affectionately called, received his education in the Virginia public school system. He moved to Baltimore in 1939. He worked hard all his life. He was employed at Mike's Auto Mechanic Shop. He later gained employement as a cement finisher. He was a loving father and uncle. He was kind to all although he had a hard way of showing it. Everyone who knew him , loved him and liked him in their own way. In 1960 he married Minerva S. Townes. Two children were born out of this union. Later meeting Virginia Gross and finally Elizabeth Walker, both whom proceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his wife, Minerva S. Betts, four children: Karen R. Betts, Theodore Betts, Theodore P. Betts, Jr, Yolanda E. Betts. Three stepson; Stevie, Detwaan, Tyrone, one stepdaughter Christina, two brothers Moses Betts, James Betts who proceded him in death, a devoted niece Viola Brown, special nephew Matthew, special niece Armenta, cousin Bert, two very close friends Becky and Cynthia; twenty-one grandchildren Donnell, Ra-Shawndda, Krystal, Corey Jr., Theodore, Tykiera, Shalanda, Tyniesha, Demoreaze, Quanshay, Shandria, Lashawn, London, Tyshiera HeKeem, Ali, Nyasis, Aniya. Whom preceded him in death; Tyquan, Deshawn, and Dawayne. Six great-grandchildren: Airel, K'ayla, Renee, Kamellel, Tyran, Ja Maya, one son-in-law Corey, one daughter-in-law Wanda, four godchildren; Shawntia, Samarra, Michael, Shadanna, three devoted friends: Sy, Linnette, and a good friend Tyra, and a host of other relatives and friends.
