Theresa Marian Oliver (Thomas), devoted wife of Samuel Oliver Jr. (Deceased), departed this life on Saturday, May 6, 2017 following a brief illness.

Theresa was born to Wilbert and Elizabeth Thomas on June 27, 1936 in Baltimore, MD. Resa, as she was affectionately called, was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. She graduated from Paul Lawrence Dunbar Senior High School. It was during high school that she met and later married her sweetheart Samuel on February 26, 1956. From this union, they had six devoted children.

Theresa was a caring wife and mother whose love extended beyond her family to everyone she met. Theresa, while caring for her husband and children, pursued a degree in nursing at Baltimore City Community College, becoming a Registered Nurse in 1977. She worked at various hospitals and with The American Red Cross. Following her retirement from The Red Cross, Theresa went on to provide in-house care as a private duty nurse.

Theresa was known by many names of endearment among family and friends. Most notably, Resa, Ma Re, and Grandma Dynamite, which she lovingly answered to with a chuckle. Theresa had a passion for singing, dating back to childhood. She continued to sing Praises to the Lord until her demise.

Theresa leaves to mourn her precious memories, her children, Samuel (Deborah), Terri (Darrell), Craig (Cassandra), Paula (Vernon), Carolyn, and James (Mary); her brother Floyd (Maxine) Thomas; one aunt, Muriel West; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, three nieces, two nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Theresa will surely be missed by all who knew and loved her.
