Mr. Thomas Dennis was born to the late Carrie Cooke Dennis and James Dennis in York County, Virginia on March 10, 1914. Mr. Dennis' brother Sidney Dennis, sisters Florence Dennis Diggs Brooks, Mary Dennis, Birdie Dennis and stepmother Etula Dennis all have preceded him in death. Thomas joined New Bethel Baptist Church of Yorktown, Va, at an early age and continued to support the church. He left Virginia as a young boy to pursue work in different cities. He traveled all over the United States and became friends with many people. He decided to make his home in Baltimore, Md. where he did odd jobs and accepted a job with railroad. He worked as a truck driver and retired from the railroad in 1976. Known to his friends and family as Tom or Tommy, he was united in holy matrimony to the late Eulah White Dennis. Thomas joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Baltimore. He was a faithful member until his health failed him. He became a member of the Masons. Thomas leaves behind a companion, Ms. Wilhemina Martin who took very good care of him before and during his stay in the nursing home. He also leaves behind his niece, Ms. Carrie Evans and Ms. Lorraine Spencer; great-niece, Deborah Wilright; great-nephews, Larry Evans, Dewayne Spencer and Derrick Evans; numerous great-great-nieces and nephews all of Detroit, Michigan and Jackson, Mississippi. He also leaves behind Frances Bolton daughter; a very good friend, Ms. Fanny Chapman; cousins and many caring friends and neihbors of Baltimore, Md. In Virginia he leaves behind his cousins, Rev. Penny Dennis, Daniel Dennis Jr.; and many more loving friends and relatives. Mr. Dennis will always be remembered for his kindness, loyalty and love that he gave to others and others gave to him.
