Obituary

Mr. Thomas Abanda Taku was born on August 29th, 1958, in Ejuingang village, to Papa Simon Ndekesong Taku and Mami Lydia Esongabang Taku of blessed memory. He was the third of 11 siblings. He hails from Takwai village, Upper Bayang sub-division, Manyu division, Southwest region, CAMEROON. He had a Catholic upbringing of Catholic Parents.

In 1971, Thomas attended primary school at the then Council School Buea Town. Thereafter, he got enrolled into St. Joseph's College Sasse-Buea, where he obtained Ordinary Levels in 1976. He went on to CCAS Kumba and graduated from High School in 1978. Thomas taught at Enonchong Memorial College, Mamfe, for two years, and worked with American Life Insurance (ALICO) for a while before he went to join his uncle, Dr. Michael Taku, who was in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States of America, for further studies.

In 1983, he obtained an Associate of Science degree from Atlanta Junior College, in 1986, he graduated with a Bachelor of Business/Economics from Kennesaw College, and in 1990, he graduated with a Master of Business Administration from Stetson School of Business and Economics, Mercer University.

Thomas worked as Export/Import Manager, worked as a Grants/Contracts Specialist at Lincoln University, and also worked a lot as a Professional in Accounts and Finance with the Hospitality industry.

Thomas was a fun-loving person who cherished spending time with friends and loved ones and sharing knowledge. As a result of his love for sharing knowledge, and seeing change in the world, he wrote a book titled: "Framework for Industrialization in Africa", and published it in 1999 and has become one of Amazon's great Authors over the years. In spite of the fact that he was reserved and private, he was also very jovial. When it came to how organized and neat he was, his siblings would say 'he got that from Papa (their dad) and always acted like him with how he did almost everything, and how he carried himself. When he stepped out for a good time, he would always look so sharp, and still found a means to blend into the most recent trends, With how he carried himself, he was nicknamed, "Nyanga man". Through his life's journey, moving from Cameroon to the United States in Atlanta, Missouri, Virginia and Maryland, all those who got to know him now have a void in their hearts as he has left them all with nothing but fun and happy memories.

He died from cardiac arrest on the morning of Sunday, August 1st, 2021.

Thomas Abanda's life shall be remembered in many ways, for whom he was and what he stood for. He leaves behind his father, Papa Simon Ndekesong Taku, his son Antoine Michael Taku, aunts, uncles, cousins, his love Regine Mbeh, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews, extended relatives, friends and sympathizers, to mourn and pray for him.

We love him but God loves him more.

MAY HIS SOUL REST IN THE LORD'S BOSOM.
