Obituary

THOMAS WILLIAMS, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and family man, departed from earth to join his heavenly Father on December 20, 2012, at the age of seventy. Thomas Williams, better known as "Tom", was born on February 7, 1942 in Darlington, South Carolina to the late Thomas Jefferson Robinson and Azalle Williams Robinson. Tom moved to Baltimore, Maryland as a young boy. He was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. Tom had a love for the culinary arts. He has prepared foods for some of the top politicians and athletes across the United States. He loved to cook for his family and friends until his illness. In addition to his excellent cooking skills, he was a man of style. He was known for his love of big hats, suits and cars. Tom loved life and enjoyed it to his fullest. From a previous relationship, Tom had two lovely daughters, who currently reside in Providence, Rhode Island. Tom met the love of his life, Barbara in 1968. They both shared a love for cooking. He affectionately called her "Sweetzie". The two blended their families and shared in the love and rearing of their children. Tom loved to travel and would gather all the children for weekend trips to the beach or a trip down South or wherever. He never let the children down! In 1971, Barbara and Tom gave birth to Tracey on an Easter Sunday morning. The family continued to grow and they have been blessed with a handful of grandchildren and great-grands! He was affectionately known by his grandchildren as "Granddaddy". He spent an enormous amount of time with the grandchildren. He was as much a part of their lives as he was to their parents. Tom was so blessed to have enjoyed the lives of all his children and their children and even greatgrandchildren. Tom will be sorely missed by many family and friends as he was well loved. He leaves to mourn: wife, Barbara 'Sweets" Scruggs-Williams; five daughters, Tressa E. Washington Sterlin, Evelyn Neverdon-Boyd, Donna "Dee Dee" Williams-Norrington Edward, Tracey Lavern Williams-Johnson Kennard and Barbara A. Scruggs Davone; one son, James Harris; four sons-in-law, Edward, Kennard, Davone and Sterlin; thirteen grandchildren, Meisha, Mahogany, Michael, Alana-Jean, A'ijae, Gary, Phillip, Chris, Demetrius, Natasha, Kyle, Wayne and Kerri; nine great-grandchildren; five sisters, Gerthenia "Peggy" Robinson, Mary Lewis, Martha Squire, Shirley White and Lula Nolley; one brother, Nathaniel Williams; one sister-in-law, Gloria Williams; one brother who preceded him in death, Robert "Bobby"" Gooden; three brothers-in-law, Anthony White, Bryan Nolley and Ernest Lewis who was also his bestfriend; his closest cousin, Annie Mae Davis; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
