Tony leaves a host of family to cherish his memory including one daughter, Toni Matthews-Bey and one son Devon Marcello Kendall; one sister: Carolyn Kendall and two brothers Purcell Frankie Kendall and the late Phillip Kendall Sr; three grandchildren: Sahasha Matthews-Bey, Aminah MatthewsBey and Amaree Matthews-Bey; two nieces: Shantell Kendall and Faith Jackson; four nephews: Phillip Kendall Jr, Pierre Jones, Joshua Jackson and Justice Kendall; many aunts, uncles and cousins and friends.
Tony was a graduate of Edmondson High School and Coppin State University where he majored in Nursing and pledged Delta Delta Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma. He continued his nursing education, later, at Wallace College in Dothan, Alabama. He was raised in the church and very knowledgeable of the scriptures. He went to church a few times in his last year with us and stated he should go more often. He never turned down prayer.
Tony grew up playing sports (basketball, football and baseball) He was very competitive and loved playing spades and watching movies. Tony was the life of the party from being the DJ to just cracking jokes on you until everyone was laughing. Tony spoke with brutal words but was as brutal in his love for others. He wanted those he loved to return love to him the same way.
