Troy Matthews departed the, earthly realm on

Sunday, July 28, 2019 around 3AM at MedStar Harbor Hos-

pital, after battling a short but challenging illness. Troy was

born and raised in Baltimore MD, to parents William (Sana)

Jones and Nicole (Nikki) Matthews, both of Baltimore MD.

Troy was mainly reared in the Baltimore City Public

school system. It was there were he met his mentor lovingly

known to Troy and others as "Mr. Fortier", in the 5th grade.

This would prove to be a long lasting relationship as Troy

kept in contact with him through his last days. Troy had

several odd jobs throughout his adult life but they all fo-

. cused on working with his hands as he was so great at doing

so. Troy was also an avid artist and could draw some of the

most beautiful pictures.

Troy was a gentle spirit that was very kind and had a

strong love for his family, especially his siblings. Young

Troy, even into adulthood, would often say, when he was

old enough and had enough money, he was going to build a

house for him and all of this brothers and sisters to live in

and he would be their caretaker. Troy was so adamant about

this goal that he would sometimes get on his younger sib-

lings and if they did not listen he would say, "y'all gonna be

living with me soon and I will be taking care of y'all and

y'all gonna have to listen to me then.". This was one of the

beautiful things about Troy. He loved family!

Preceded in death by his mother Nicole, Grandmother

Cheryl, Grandfather Gene, and Aunt Cassandra who was a

second mom, Troy leaves to cherish his memory; father Sa-

na, daughter Alyssia, Grandmother [amila, siblings, Corey,

Devonaire, Shana, Dana, Di'Idrick, Tiara, Lashawn, Marcel,

Ziara, Sana, Iyona, Isiah and others; .Aunts Judy & Shirley,

who helped raise him, Talisha and Charrisse; Uncles Gary

and Bary; nieces and nephews Devonte', Nekai, Dana,

McKynzie, Sophia, Amia, and Dennis III, close cousins

raised like sisters, Alexus % Aliya, Godmother Nyoaki, and

a host of other family and friends that love Troy very much.
